I've decide to join Operation Write Home and I did my first attempt on doing a nice card specially for this Holiday of Memorial Day 2012.
If you don't know what Operation Write Home is I encourage you to visit their site an read what is all about. I think is a great cause and allot of people has been involved.
Now for my first challenge with them I did select Challenge #123, it came out pretty good I think and is a very elegant subtle look. the challenge was easy to accomplished and I'm very happy doing this for a nice cause. Please comment I would love to know what you think and thanks for visiting my blog.
HAPPY MEMORIAL WEEKEND!!!!
Welcome to OWH, and TFS your first card with us! I think it turned out great, and I love those little blue flowers! Looking forward to seeing more of your cards!
ReplyDeleteThank you Carol, I had fun doing this card love the flowers too :)
ReplyDeleteYour card is great! I love the splash of red with your flag. You've joined a great cause - I'm a latecomer too - and you'll enjoy contributing to OWH. By the way, your blog is just way cool and interesting. I'm a follower now!
ReplyDeleteHi Erika, thanks for your nice comments I just went to your blog and is very lovely too, I sub.
ReplyDeleteYes I think this cause is a great thing. Keep visiting my blog I post almost every day with new things. Thank you :)
Welcome to OWH! I'm fairly new to the group and LOVE it! Such terrific friendly, creatively inspiring people and a super cause, too! I really love your card; the blue flowers are such a special touch and your color choices are fab!
ReplyDeleteOh thank you JoAnn, I'm glad that you stop by. Yes there is definitely creativeness all around that site and I'm very glad I could join and be part of it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments on my card, I tried my bes since is the first time I do something like this, I've been practicing LOL...
Great to have you as part of the OWH family! Nice job on your first sketch card. This card is very pretty and would be great as an Any Hero card with a note to a hero written in it . These get put into the boxes with the lank cards and never have to be mailed back to the states in an envelope so thicker embellishments like flowers make it to them intact. I look forward to seeing more! :)

Thank you Paula, I think I manage well to assemble this card and the results were very nice I wish you could see it in real life.
ReplyDeleteThe flaw with the card though was something I read today on the OWH site, that if the card was glue with a glue stick is a no go. Unfortunately I don't have yet an ATG gun or any adhesive that will have like a runner tape so that made me sad :(
Welcome to OWH! I have been making cards for our deployed military for one year and have learned lots, made 'virtual' friends, and try to join both challenges every week. The sketch challenge is on Sunday and on Wednesday there is another challenge (like use certain colors, certain embellishments, etc). Your card is lovely and your site is terrific! Also, thanks for the tutorial ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy, thanks for your welcoming words. I'm looking forward to meet new people and share my experience on making cards with everyone at OWH and the rest of the World :)
ReplyDeleteThis was the first time doing a video explaining how to do a card and I'm sure I will get better in the future I'm to knew making cards and things like that, catching up with you guys.
