Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks

So I will say this, Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks are super fun!

Way back in the days alcohol inks were very expensive and I couldn't  afford them, but that didn't stop me from experimenting and create my own. So I've made a video called Alcohol Ink Home Made Tutorial, today this is one of my most viewed videos on my YouTube channel and it was the most fun thing to do since I was just working with materials that I had around the house. The only thing I bought was photo paper so I've could had a nice surface to work with but it was not expensive. The main idea was that Tim Holtz was working with them on the Tag of July of 2012 and I wanted to have the same effect and so I did. The results were super cool and I had a lot of fun you can check my blog post of these event here.

Well but those days are gone and now I've manage to get some legit Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks, guess what I'm hooked and I've realize what I've missed all these years.

July is around the corner and I wanted to make some backgrounds to make make cards with the alcohol inks and learn the use of this inks, Tim Holtz has many videos on how to use Alcohol Inks you can do some research and you will find tons of information.

The first thing to learn was that Yupo Paper and Specialty Stamping Paper is the best thing to use for this medium. When I started to lay down the colors I was just in aaaaw of how pigmented and beautiful they are and the way the behave. I still need more to learn about this medium but I had a lot of fun making these cards. I don't have a video yet about this but I might need to work on one.

Compendium of Curiosities 2 - Pockect Watch

So for this technique chosen for this week’s CC2C Challenge on the Studio L3 blog is the Pocket Watch .  The instructions for the technique can be found on page 35 of Tim Holtz’s book Compendium of Curiosities Volume 2. Love the pocket watch is such an amazing thing to do and then yet I feel is like a little treasure that has disappear in time. Now I've always find pocket watches very sexy and attractive in a man, once in my life I met a man that would use a pocket watch and I was so fascinated with his style, this is such and old tradition but men around the World don't consider this an attractive watch to wear or carry. I have to thank Tim for bringing this tradition back in a Vintage way like everything Tim does an I can keep one forever. So for this spectacular piece I've used as the background for my Pocket Watch Tim Holtz Paper, some metal embellishments metal clock plate, spinner and small key, the stamped number 63 comes from a Tim Holtz Clear Rubber Stam
