Pride Month {2022}

So how can I forget, Pride Month in June. This is my part on my art process making an art journal page with Holbein Gouache and working with a Dina Wakley Stamps.  There is nothing more beautiful than a Rainbow embrace it. When all Americans are treated as equal, no matter who they are or whom they love, we are all more free.              Barack Obama

Dear Father 2022 {Assemblage Baseboard}

Yesterday was father's day, I was thinking about my father. It's been a long time since he passed away and despite all the family problems, I miss him. I have made this Assemblage Baseboard in his memory, I've put a lot of thought on it and every item that you see here represents his younger life. Is quite interesting that I might be the only one in the family who knows more about him than his other children. Sometimes we spent a lot of time talking about his past with me and I've taken that with me throughout my life.  The Assemblage Baseboard was all made with Tim Holtz Idea-Ology the only thing that is not Tim Holtz is the picture, is not part of his photo booth and the mini bulb. It was a great experience putting all this things together to remember a person that was part of my younger life. I hope you are next to your father on a day like this, treasure him. And if your father is not around anymore just celebrate his life by remembering him. I've done a nice Ti...

Father's Day Card Gent | Tim Holtz Distress Markers

 I've made this card following my Father's Day series, I've picked an old rubber stamp that I love using from time to time and took out my Tim Holtz Distress Markers. Tim's Distress Markers are something that I like to use, but because I've not use them in a while they are starting to dry out. The good news is that I've still got some markers that are working fine, the bad news is that these markers have been retired. The card came out beautiful just as I was expecting, using the markers is fun. I've stamp in Tim's Specialty Stamping Paper and use the markers with a watercolor brush to obtain that watercolor look that I love. the gold metal background gives it a nice touch. If you would like to get this card for a special dad, you can click here to go to my Etsy Shop TatteredRoses41.  Now I would love to hear from you: Are you creating Father's Day Cards? Have you use Tim Holtz Distress Markers? Nevertheless don't forget to subscribe to my YouTu...

Express Yourself With Art Journaling

I've done art journaling for years and there is nothing more satisfying than doing this craft. You can express yourself so much and your mind can go wild and creative. All you need is a journal book, paints, brushes, stamps and some magazine cut outs and your mind and world will change.  I recommend art journaling to everyone, will make you feel better everyday. I've forgotten how much fun and therapeutic it is. I've found lately that I'm not happy if I'm not doing any form of Art and for the past 3 weeks I've taken all my paints and many other art supplies out to start creating and I feel mentally much better.  Express yourself throughout art and life will be awesome!!! Do you artsjournal? Leave me a comment about your thoughts, will love to hear from you :)

Ephemera Tags to Classified Rubber Stamps Collection

Playing with Tim Holtz idea-ology tags got me an idea for organization!  Organizing and classifying my Tim's Stamps from Stamper Anonymous is important to me. The idea-ology tags 🏷 came handy cause I couldn’t figure out how to use the labels in the bottom, nevertheless my idea came out just perfect and it was easy to do. Organization is key to be productive in your Art Studio or space, many times we abandon the idea to keep things organized and then kaos comes in and your creative motor stops because you can't find anything and it becomes a habit. Cleanup after you finished your projects, trust me you will feel good and ready for the next day to come and play with your supplies. Now I would like to hear from you: Do you have a organizational strategy in your art space? How often do you organize your art space? Vintage Art Deco Clock (1990)

I’ve found this little gem 💎 yesterday at a vintage store. I've done some research and it seems that this were done in the 90’s, I'm not sure but the cool thing about it is that it has that retro style from the 60’s, kind of like art-deco. It doesn’t work but is ok I like it for my studio since we got the #vintage vibe going on with a travel theme.  I absolutely love it 💛 and it makes a great vintage decoration in my art studio. Since I was very young I love clocks, but my love for vintage clocks is bigger because they are so cool, the house I've grew up in use to have those old big clocks that will have bell tones every hour or so. I've also owned the vintage Cat Clock that move the eyes and the tail when I was a kid, very creepy but fun! Now a days is very expensive to get.  I would love to hear from you: Do you like vintage clocks? Do you own Vintage clocks? Subscribe to my YouTube channel for more content EmeralDQueenTV

Tim Holtz Tag of (2014 - May) | Going Back to Basics

I've been having lots of fun going back to these tags that I've never finished. These were a challenge that Tim Holtz had for several years and they were very fun to make.  This tag is the one for May of 2014 and the tiling techniques is an amazing process to create a vintage look. Because I've gathered allot of the Tim Holtz Idea-Ology for years, making this tag was a breeze. I thought the outcome came out exactly like the tag says BEAUTIFUL!!!

Inspired by Queen Elizabeth Platinum Jubilee {2022}

On February the 6th of this year 2022 her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth. To celebrate this unprecedented anniversary, events and initiatives will take place throughout the year, culminating in a four day UK bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th June.  The four days of celebrations will include public events and community activities, as well as national moments of reflection on The Queen’s 70 years of service.   A special extended bank holiday weekend will provide an opportunity for communities and people throughout the United Kingdom to come together to celebrate the historic milestone. To celebrate her milestone I've made this beautiful tag, I was lucky to have the rights stamps and inks for the job. It was a very interesting project since I haven't done a tag since 2014.

Johnny Depp Legal Victory (2022)

I've been a fan of Johnny Depp since my teen years, love his movies and his Art of acting. I've always had faith since day one of this legal dispute against his former wife in 2022 here in the USA, I knew that Johnny will come out victorious of all the mess that this person has done against him. Now as much as I adore him and a lot of fans out there too, I've struggle on knowing so much about him in a deep personal way. Things that we didn't know about the actor and how much he has gone through all his life and family. Hollywood is not easy, fame is not easy we all know that sooner or later famous people will fall is not a secret. I fear for his recuperation not only morally and spiritually but for his mental health. The abuse of drugs and alcohol has never been a good thing. Maybe this will be an opportunity for him to rehabilitate his life and keep being the amazing Johnny Depp that we all know from the movies as well as the Father that he is for his children. Hopeful...

Throwback Time Mailbox Makeover 📬

 LOL #throwbacktime 2013. I've came across this video while I was checking my YouTube Channel for some information that I wanted to include in my Pinterest Site, it really put a smile on my face cause it doesn't matter where I am, what I do there is always that creative spark.  This little video that I've made way back in 2013 never had many views and I thought sharing it with you here in the blog would be a good idea. I think that if we can make our places and things better we will do everything to make us smile. In this particular case it was for my mailbox at that time and I'm pretty sure that the mailman/women had a smile on his/her face when he/she saw it by making his/her job easier on reading my information so he/she could place the mail in the right place.  This tells me that I should probably do this for the current mailbox that I have cause is all not pretty LOL. That also makes me think that I should make a new video for my current mailbox with a different ...
